Troll ball – the rules

Choose your ball i.e. someone very willing or very stupid, preferably both. Divide the remaining warriors into roughly two equal teams. All warriors to be without weapons or shields. It is wise to also remove items such as belts, pouches or anything else that can be grabbed and used to haul you all over the place. No scratching (Claire please note), biting (Leia please note), hair pulling (Claire please note) or gouging (Leia please note.)
Two shields are placed at either end of the field as goal markers. The ball is placed (willing or otherwise) in the centre of the field. Each team stands at one end with their goal. When the signal is given they run for the ball and make every best effort to take it back to their shield. A goal is scored when the ball is placed on the shield. Once a goal has been scored the ball is returned to the centre of the field and you start again.
The game continues until there is a clear winner or something gets broken, preferably not the ball as this does shorten everyone’s enjoyment including the ball’s.
