Gold Songs

Goldminer
(To the tune of Delilah by Tom Jones)

I was a young dwarf just recently taken to mining
(Gold gold gold gold)
I did not know that it was for gold I was pining
(Gold gold gold gold)
I stood there mining
(Mining my gold)
I found a nugget of gold, now I want some more gold

Gold gold gold Goldmining
(I never knew I wanted so much gold)
Gold gold gold Goldmining
(I never knew I wanted so much gold)
Until I’m told this mine has run out of gold I’ll pick up my pick and I’ll mine lots of nice shiny gold

Then, one day, as I was passing my Goldmine,
(Gold gold gold gold)
I heard the sound of another dwarf having a good time,
(Gold gold gold gold)
He stood there mining,
(Mining my gold)
He felt the pick in his head, now he’ll mine no more

Gold gold gold Goldmining
(I never knew I wanted so much gold)
Gold gold gold Goldmining
(I never knew I wanted so much gold)
And so, before, they come back to mine a bit more, I’ll pick up my pick and I’ll mine lots of nice shiny gold

Gold, some Gold
(To the tune of Doe A Deer from The Sound Of Music)

Gold, some gold, a bar of gold,
Gold, a vat of molten gold,
Gold, some gold, I mined myself,
Gold, a long way to mine gold,
Gold, a wagon full of gold,
Gold, another sack of gold,
Gold, a mountain made of gooold,
Which brings us back to gold, gold, gold, gold,

2nd verse repeat with extra gold

3rd verse repeat with all words as gold

Lord of the Mine
(To the tune of Lord of the Dance)

I mined in the morning when the dwarves were young,
I found lots of nuggets and I mined every one
.
I mined in the forests and beneath the earth,
In Moria I found my worth

Chorus
Mine gold wherever it may be,
For I am the lord of the mine said he,
And I’ll mine more gold wherever it may be
,
And I’ll mine more gold from the mine said he

I mined in the forest for the elves and the king,
But they wouldn’t mine and of gold they wouldn’t sing
.
I mined in the mountains for the dwarves of old,
They came with me and we mined more gold

Chorus

I mined down in Moria when the orcs attacked.
It’s hard to mine when the balrog wants a snack
.
He whipped me down and he made me fry,
But I love gold and my greed won’t die

Chorus

Two Dwarven Boys
(To the tune of  Two litte boys)

Two dwarven boys had two dwarven toys,
Each had a wooden pick.
Gaily they played each summers day.

Goldminers both of course.
Then one litte chap he had a mishap,
Broke off his pickaxe head,
Wept for his toy then cried with joy,
As his young playmate said…

Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there’s gold on my barrow for two?
Climb up here Balen and don’t be crying,
I’ve got lots of gold for you.
When we grow up we’ll both be miners,
And our picks they will not be toys,
And I wonder if we’ll remember,
When we were two dwarven boys.

Long years passed, beards grow so fast.
Boldy they marched to mine.
But a pit prop collapsed and in the mishap,
Wounded and dying lay.
From the ranks there’s a shout, a barrow trundles out,
Out from the ranks of dwarves.
Unable to hold any of his gold.
Then came a voice he knew…

Did you think I would leave you dying,
When there’s gold on my barrow for two?
Too damn right, it’s my gold,
And I’m not sharing it with you.
You may think me cruel and heartless,
To adopt this selfish poise,
But your gold was just pretend gold,
When we were two dwarven boys
